Sanitation & Recycling

The City of Hazen contracts with an outside waste management company for solid waste collection. Everyone within the city limits is required to have garbage collection and all residential customers within the city limits are required to purchase their own garbage containers.

Most trash and debris, when properly bundled and/or contained properly, can be disposed of at curbside with your regular garbage service days. Regular garbage service days are every Thursday. Trash needs to be placed on the curb by 7:00a.m.  Large trash pick up is the third Tuesday of every month which includes furniture, appliances etc.  Please be reminded that no leaves or limbs will be picked up by the garbage service.  Leaves can be burned and limbs can be placed on the trailer behind the Hazen Community Center.  If assistance is needed or you have questions for the city, please do not hesitate to contact us.

For questions specific to trash pick up, please call the waste management company directly.

The City of Hazen also has a recycle bin located at the Hazen Community Center on 906 E. Front St.  Plastic bottles (soda, milk, detergent), aluminum and tin cans, office paper, junk mail, magazines, phone books and cardboard are allowed to be placed in the bin.
